Gorilla Goes On Rampage At Local Zoo!
A Gorilla at the local zoo went on a rampage this morning, destroying exhibits and allegedly injuring several people.
The Gorilla, which was said to be about 10 years old, began smashing windows and tearing down fencing in the ape exhibit shortly after dawn. Zookeepers responded quickly, but were unable to contain the animal. The Gorilla then moved on to other parts of the zoo, destroying exhibits and assaulting visitors.
At least four people are reported to have been injured in the rampage, including one child who was reportedly bitten by the Gorilla. Zoo officials say they do not know why the animal went on a rampage, but cautioned that he could be dangerous if approached.
This is not the first time that this particular Gorilla has caused problems at the zoo. In fact, zookeepers say he has been routinely aggressive and difficult to handle since he was brought to the zoo several years ago.
This latest incident is sure to reignite the debate over whether animals should be kept in captivity in zoos at all. Many people believe that animals like gorillas should be allowed to live in their natural habitats, and that it is cruel to keep them locked up in cages.
